About

At Paperry by Portia, we create handmade paper goods, papermaking supplies, bookbinding tools, envelope templates, and botanical paper objects inspired by nature, texture, and slow craftsmanship.

Founded in 2021 by Portia, a maker with a background in pulp and paper engineering, Paperry began with a simple but lasting appreciation for paper — its texture, warmth, imperfections, and quiet beauty.

Before starting Paperry, Portia’s connection with paper came from a more technical and industrial world of pulp, fibers, and paper production. Over time, that knowledge gradually led her in a different direction: away from mass production and toward a slower, quieter way of working with paper by hand.

What started as a small handmade paper supplies business has grown over the past five years into a creative studio offering paper goods, tools, and objects for makers, artists, and paper lovers around the world.

Our work explores the relationship between paper, light, natural materials, and hands-on making. Our collections are influenced by traditional papermaking techniques, botanical forms, and the calm rhythm of slow craft. From mould and deckle sets and handmade paper to paper lamps, journals, gift packaging, and creative tools, each piece is designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, and a deeper connection with the materials we use every day.

We believe handmade objects bring a different feeling into a space — softer, warmer, and more human.
